How can we help?

You matter! VOTE NANCY DUNCAN for Penn Township Trustee on NOV. 3rd, 2026.

VISION &
PRIORITIES

Penn Township has the resources, the mandate, and the community to do this right. Here's what matters most.

01

YOUR

TOWNSHIP

MATTERS

If you need help with rent, utilities, food, or medicine — the door should actually be open. Penn Township has resources. You deserve access to them.

02

YOU

MATTER

It’s your right to be heard. Big decisions about your taxes and services shouldn't happen in secret. When the township acts, you deserve to know about it.

03

HOW

CAN WE

HELP?

That's not just a slogan — it's the job. Penn Township exists to serve as a safety net for its residents. When I’m elected, helping you becomes my priority.

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS

WhoIsNancy_v2.png

Nancy is a lifelong educator, a mom, and a grandma. She knows what it means to raise a family on a budget. She knows what a family goes through when catastrophic illness hits. She knows hardship can happen to anyone — and that when it does, a helping hand really matters.

Today she's an active participant in local government, showing up to meetings, asking questions, and bringing her Bernese Mountain Dog Tim along whenever she can.

Townships are as local as local government gets. At this level, political party matters far less than knowing your community, caring about it, and getting the job done.

Penn Township deserves a Trustee who shows up — not just for the fire department, but for every resident who needs a helping hand.

Together, we can do more.

Penn Township

If you live in Indiana, you live in a township. Penn Township is the largest township in St. Joseph County by area — 63 square miles — and second largest by population, with 68,000 residents.

The purpose of a township, in the words of the U.S. Constitution, is to insure domestic tranquility and promote the general welfare. In practice, that means:

  • EMS, Ambulance, Fire, & Hazard Protection

  • Emergency Assistance

    • Housing

    • Utilities

    • Food

    • Medicine

    • and more

  • Food Pantry Access

  • Cemetery Maintenance

  • Parks

  • Community Centers & Public Facilities

  • Fence Dispute Resolution

  • Noxious Vegetation Eradication

Penn Township has a $5 million fund meant to support residents in need. You should know it exists — and it should be working for you.

UNLOCK THE DOOR.

How Can We Help?

Right now, Penn Township's trustee office is hard to find and harder to access. Residents in crisis don't know help is available. The door is effectively closed. Nancy's platform is straightforward:

Open the doors.
Residents should know what their township is, what it does, and how to ask for help. No locked offices. No runaround.

Give residents a voice.
When decisions are being made that affect your safety, your wellbeing, and your taxes — you should know about them. You should have a chance to weigh in.

Fund emergency services the right way.
Penn Township's Fire Department needs sustainable funding. Nancy supports finding a path that keeps our Fire Chief, keeps our firefighters and EMTs under local control, and explores fairer revenue options — including our rightful share of Local Income Tax (LIT) funds, which currently support county 911 dispatch while other townships, South Bend, and Mishawaka receive theirs directly.

Do more for the community.
Townships in neighboring areas run backpack programs for kids, support senior lunches, and actively reach out to residents who need help. Penn can do that too.

Be Heard.

Decisions about your community's safety, funding, and future shouldn't happen quietly. Nancy is committed to keeping Penn Township residents informed and engaged — on emergency services, on taxes, and on everything in between.

WE'RE GRATEFUL
